Frequently Asked Questions

How would supporting the library leave a lasting legacy?

  • A community committed to lifelong learning and involvement is a better place to live. Support for the library has the potential to touch each person in our community well into the future. From board books to retirement planning, there’s something for everyone at the library.

What is the difference between the Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library?

  • The Foundation is the primary fundraising arm of the library and its endowment. The Friends are a membership organization that supports the library through Friends-sponsored programs, initiatives, and events such as the monthly book sales.

Isn’t the library supported by my tax dollars?

  • Yes, but it is necessary to supplement the library’s budget in order to provide the best possible library services to our community. Your donation helps provide better library services to more people and ensure funds are available for future library needs.

FRIENDS ACCOMPLISHMENTS in 2022

Friends of Linebaugh Library maintains its commitment to expand the reach and service of the 3 public libraries in Murfreesboro. In the past year, Friends has added to the libraries technological capabilities with the purchase of 3-D printers for the Technology Engagement Center as well as 4 iPad tablets and accompanying tablet table for Linebaugh. Myrtle Glanton Lord Library now has a Little Free Library installation for use by visitors to Patterson Park. Friends support several library programs, such as the Harry Nelson Winter Reading Program, the Summer Reading Program, National Comic Book Day and Pen Pals. This year Abby Rosser, a local author, gave presentations at 7 middle schools throughout the
county with such enthusiasm and spirit!

Our success is due to the support of our members and the loyal volunteers who work in the FOLL bookstore, eBay store, and at our books sales. Join us. Friends is a charitable nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization.
