With a grant provided by the Christy-Houston Foundation, the Rutherford County Library System (RCLS) has invested in a new application (app), for RCLS library card holders. Available for both Android and Apple devices, users will be able to connect their unique library card to the app, offering a personal and customized experience.
The application offers the following resources/services:
- Access to library catalog
- Barcode scanner
- Connection to your own library card account to status on holds, checked-out items, room bookings, and current charges
- Information on RCLS branch locations, hours and contact numbers
- Event calendar, searchable by branch
- Ability to book a meeting room
- Volunteer forms
- Library News
- Online resources such as databases
- Links to the Flipster, hoopla and Libby apps.
With the app, RCLS patrons can receive instant notifications of available holds, due dates for materials, and other previously emailed notices.
“One of our strategic goals has been to improve online connections to resources for our patrons,” said Director of Libraries Rita Shacklett. “We believe this new mobile app will make the patron experience easier and more accessible.”
This free app is available for download on all mobile devices that utilize the Apple or Android systems.
