Secretary of State Tre Hargett presented a grant at the Technology Engagement Center Monday, November 6, 2017.
The $100,000 Library Construction Grant, distributed through the Tennessee State Library and Archives, will help fund the 5,492-square-foot facility that will house 36 computers, free Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, countless online resources and 3-D printers.
Sen. Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro), Rep. Tim Rudd (R-Murfreesboro), and Rep. Dawn White (R-Murfreesboro), Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland and Rutherford County Mayor Ernest Burgess also participated. Bill Jones represented the Christy Houston Foundation. Rita Shacklett, Rutherford County Library System Director expressed gratitude to all these groups' contributions which have made the TEC a reality.
