Healing Arts Project, Inc. Exhibition at Smyrna Public Library

HAPI art
Article Date
August 12, 2019

The librarians at Smyrna Public Library are proud to announce that Healing Arts Project, Inc., has an art exhibition on display inside the library. The mission of Healing Arts Project, Inc. (HAPI) is to provide “artistic opportunities for persons in mental health and addiction recovery to promote healing, community awareness and inclusion.

HAPI exists to fill a gap in recovery and rehabilitation services by providing free art classes taught by professional artists, art exhibition and publication opportunities, and outreach events. These opportunities help participants express and externalize their personal struggles as they create art to tell their story, promoting healing in themselves and understanding in the community.

HAPI serves approximately 500 individuals in mental health and addiction recovery each year. 90% say they feel greater self-confidence, comfort in social situations, ability to cope, and sense of self-worth as a result of being involved in HAPI's artistic programs.” You can learn more about HAPI by visiting the website www.healingartsprojectinc.org or email inquiries to info@healingartsprojectinc.org.

Visit Smyrna Public Library at 400 Enon Springs Road West in Smyrna, Tennessee to see this art exhibition for yourself and receive a free copy of Expressions of Hope: Faith, Hope and Recovery in Letters 2018, a Healing Arts Project, Inc. publication. The art exhibition will be on display through the month of August.
