Article Date
January 6, 2020

Smyrna native Ellen Meacham will be the 2020 featured author for the Friends of Linebaugh Library Annual Author Luncheon at The Woman's Club on East College Street. Meacham will speak about her book Delta Epiphany: Robert F. Kennedy in Mississippi. Meacham "tells the story of Kennedy's visit to the Mississippi Delta, examining the forces that shaped the lives of the children he met, and how the national attention Kennedy's trip received would bring issues of hunger and poverty into the forefront of political discussions in the United States for years to come." (Melanie Lee Dragger, The Literary South).

Reservations for the Friend’s luncheon may be made at the Linebaugh Circulation Desk in January. You can also email the Friends at follintheboro@gmail.com for a membership form that can be mailed in. Cost for the luncheon for members is $10 with a paid 2020 Friends of Linebaugh Library membership or with a Lifetime Membership. Non-members can attend for $15 but must make reservations. Only checks and cash are accepted, no credit cards. The library is located at 105 W. Vine Street. Seating is limited.

The luncheon will take place Saturday, January 25, 11:00 a.m. at The Woman’s Club, located at 221 E. College Street in Murfreesboro.

Friends of Linebaugh Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 1981 to promote the library and its activities through exhibits, special programming and library materials beyond the regular resources of the library.
